Bilstein PSS-9's Do Not Mix With GT2 Ride Height - The Write-Up
#63
I have although been in 2 turbo's (mine and a friends) both were LOW gt2 height or lower and felt terrible over bumps and with dampening (H+R on mine and PSS9 on a friends)

I think the wheels are a part of it... I also think that it truly depends on the setup. My car "looks" like it's low, but I am not bottoming out on the stops. I have approx. 1/2 inch of stroke left in the shock piston before hitting the stops at max compression.
Matt, I'm with you on the Moton thing... The only reasons I'm using my PSS9s is that they came on the car, and right now I'm working other issues financially and don't want to dump another $5K in shocks. If I was starting with a bone stock TT, I'd be going with JRZs or Motons, but I bought the car with this setup on it already. So I'm making it work for now...
That said, I think it truly boils down to setting the car up properly. Getting that extra 1/2 inch of drop might be the difference. But you have to work within the limitations of the shock or you end up ruining the job the shock is trying to do for you.

Just wanted to link my other thread to this one to show that the PSS9s in lower than GT2 ride height aren't an issue, at least on my car... Those pics show it in true "action" on a very bumpy Summit Point Main circuit August 15-17, 2008.
Zero rubbing, and those "street tires" are larger diameter than my MPSCs that I normally run...
