76mm/3" intake/boost piping mod

76mm/3" intake/boost piping mod
Some people are thinking about doing this so thought I'd share how I did it. Mod will be a bit different if using different parts. I started with evoms inlet hose kit, AP ICs, AP Y pipe, and AP cayenne TB&Plenum.
Y pipe/outlet side of IC was originally OEM style coupling. cut off OEM coupler for clear air passage. 3" pipe with bead welded in place. Turbo/inlet side of IC used the OEM style couplers from AP Ypipe kit and permanantely welded them to the IC. ID same as that of turbo. No more C clips. yah!
OEM turbo hose coupler removed and hose reused. both sides now utilize hose clamps.
These are the hoses used to connect Ypipe to IC. Note the AP black hoses are ones that come with the Ypipe kit.
Opened up the Y to IC passage on body. They ended up pretty big, wanted to give the hoses enough clearance. Not cleaned up in photos, but will put a rubber ring in place after paint's touched up. Use silicon hose in this location to avoid hardpipe and body contact.
Clearance is tighter on this side, wevo mounts helped with clearance.
Evoms modified OEM inlet (looking up into engine bay from bottom of car)
above connects to plastic hard piping to turbos. vacuum hose was a bit streched so modified an adapter as seen ontop of the plastic piping. Replaced supplied silicone reducer couplers with samco, a bit thicker and longer. Probably not necessary but did for fun.

not sure if it's the same one, i made no cuts to them as pictured above. might be off a JDM specific motor. if anyone's interested to have the part number, let me know and i can find out.
