Boost Hose Clamps
I installed some new boost hoses with my K24/18 turbo setup and ran into the dreaded boost clamp issue. The hose connecting to the top of the intercooler on the left side of the engine bay is hitting the firewall due to the hose clamp being too large. Anyone know of any smaller clamps or any other solution that would work well? I searched and several people said to work with the clamp until it was seated on the far edge of the hose. This was not working either.. I would also hate for the hose clamp to be barely on the hose and blow off. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions.

One other detail that I forgot to mention. If I seat the clamp as good as possible on the hose the intercooler frame sits off of the bolt slightly. I am sure if I locked it down I could align the frame. Question is that the air intake on the top side seems to be not sitting flush. I may attack this again tonight based on everyone's feedback. I would hate to go back to stockers due to just the hose clamp, everything else seems to fit perfectly.

Good thought but don't the T-Bolt clamps sit about as high as the screw in type? It is the height that is not allowing the hose to feed through the firewall far enough.

That sucks! Did you use the lower ones at least and switch the top ones back to stock?

Same thing has stopped me in my progress with this project. I think stainless steel cable tie type is the way to go. These require a special clamping tool and that you position the flanges prior to clamping.

Porsche uses 3/8ths worm clamps on the inlet pipes to the turbos... they should fit vs the .5" that you often get... just a thought...

I kept the top ones and put the stockers back on the bottom. The silicone lower hoses popped off several times.

I wonder if I could just pick up a narrow clamp at a local auto parts store? Would that blow off immediately?

I just spoke with the Forge guys about the problem. They are going to check on machining a new piece that comes from the intercooler that is slightly longer than the existing part. In my opinion all of these companies need to make the machined portion longer going into the left intercooler hose to account for the clamp. I will let everyone know what I find out. I told them an additional 1" in length would do the trick.

In my opinion all of these companies need to make the machined portion longer going into the left intercooler hose to account for the clamp. I will let everyone know what I find out. I told them an additional 1" in length would do the trick.
