100 Cell or 200 Cell Cats ????

How much difference on a 996tt does a 100 Cell make( Milltek Sports Exhaust) as compared to a 200 cell cat( Milltek Sports Exhaust) make if the car is not tuned or is mildly tuned say 500 bhp/550ft/lb torque?

Is it worth having 100 cell if you don't intend to do anymore to the car power wise??
Thanks.

I would do 100s I took off a miltek with 200s and put on a free flowing set up with 100s and it was night and day... but I also think it was more then the 200s that choked it...

Would there be much diference between standard 996tt exhaust system and the Milltek Sprt 200 cell system ?

running a 100 cel VS a 200 cel.. is there a diference in sound? I am thinking a 100 cel would make the car louder..

Less restriction = louder.

100 cell cats significantly improve the performance over a 200 cell cat. I like the 100 cells a lot better. 100 cell provides better throttle response and turbo spool...they just work better on a performance exhaust, which is why we use them on our new cross-flow series.

100 cell cats have been proven not to affect the CO level in the exhaust whatsoever. Expensive exhaust restriction, but I suppose it looks sort of like an actual cat if that's the concern.

I cant say I'm over happy with that statement.
For all on this site who have spent fortunes on exhausts with 100 cell Cats....Prove it to us all. Where is your evidence, documentation we all want to see it.
Please don't think this is a "I can P*ss farther than U" post. If you have proof that 100 cell cats are useless at removing CO then you owe it to us all to inform us of the FACTS. If it true.... no body else should fall into the same trap thinking they will pass emissions testing.

eds966tt is infamous around these parts
Passing emisions in nj

Good point and something I also consider. Will all offering a exhaust Systems with 100 cats on this thread return full amount "in writing" if car fails emmisions? I and others need to know this before laying out 2 to 3 gs.
Please advise and thanks....

I usually warn my customers and tell them that at least they should get our flash that turns off the post 02s thus getting around any CEL...
I personally did not pass emissions in Illinois a few years back on a high end 100cell cat...

Most German tuners have a disclaimer that a 100 cell cat is not street legal and it will not pass emissions... Im not sure how you can force and or require that they return moneys... never going to happen.. if anything you get a new cat... I did...
Plus laws in different states have various levels of testing.. it is impossible to pass all tests... I mean, In Cali you need a 400 cell cat.. that is the law... how do yo expect a 100 race cat to pass?
So you either go thru the habit of swapping for stock once a year or you get what you pay for.. a free flowing exhaust...
Plus cat quality matters too... they are far from being equal...
I go as far as offering 300s just incase... and I will not sell a 100cell unit to someone that does not have the post 02s OFF... or is unwilling to get a flash to take care of the situation...

The tune doesn't drive the airflow (and hence the power) ...it is the reduction in back pressure that increases the flow, and the tune that then accommodates the increased flow and gives more power.

My 100 cell Europipe cats work fine here in California... no codes, sniffer fine. (Fail visual and audio... ) But these are very high quality cats that run $900 each...
