Failed my emission test, what can be done?

The portion I failed was:

Catalytic Converter Eff.----Not ready
Heated Oxygen Sensor----Not Ready
Secondary Air System----Not Ready

Anyone know if this can be controlled through Tuning or will I have to do more?

The 02's will be easy... but the secondary air has had on and off codes since the day I first saw the car.

Call in tomorrow. I can help out.

Cool Tony. As for the secondary air codes, I dont know what else to do. I changed all the change over valves and hoses but still get the code. I notice it only happens when the car is cold and I let it sit there to warm up. However, if I just start the car and drive right away I dont get it. In any case I did not get a code for it while testing just got a "not ready" status. I look forward to seeing what you can do for me. Call me anytime. Thank you.

What is the "secondary air system" reffering to?

I am not sure about tuning to get it ready.
Usually when you clear code or disconnect Battery, all OBDII test codes turn to be not ready. And after you drive for some amount of time, they would be tested accordingly. But if you drive car long enough or daily, these system should already ready unless may be override by tunining(I am not sure the tuner would do this.)
When was the last time you disconnect Bat or clear code?

I've never used it as my car passes emissions but heard it def works from multiple people as long as you know what you are doing. Not sure if you want to go this route but it is an option....

Are you sure the car hasn't been reset? I found I needed to drive over 100 miles before all the systems had cycled through and were "ready"

Reset everything and drive the car for 100 miles and go to emissions when it is still hot. Should pass.

If the tuning has turned OFF all those monitoring systems (Secondary Air Monitoring, O2 sensors) you will simply get "not ready" codes- doesn't matter how long you drive or how hot it gets....

As I've come to understand, most tunes just turn off the entire monitor function of whatever the CEL is they are trying to avoid- so the light doesn't come on, but you will always be 'not ready'.

Most states allow a few 'not ready' codes and still pass smog- it is when there are too many that you'll get a fail.

There is more to it that "just an EPL tune so it should pass smog"...

I did clear codes about 10 min before going into the facility. I will talk to Tony today and see what he suggests. If I have to I will drive 100 miles or so and see what happens but I would rather see what Tony has to say so I dont waste my time and money just driving around for a long period of time.

Yup. He'll know what he turned off and what needs to be reset. The ECU needs about 75-100 miles of normal driving to reset all of the "readys". the best time to go to emmissions is after one of these drives as you are at operating temperature and hopefully all of your systems are ready.

Yeah. (Mentioning you reset the OBDC 10 minutes before testing would have made this a short thread.. )
