Videos of a Ford maf@ Idle and part throttle(how drivable is it)
There has been some speculation over the last year about our Ford maf we install on our kits. There have been comments made that it is less drivable then stock, that it "bucks", "hick ups", and that the rpms go up and down erratically at idle...
Our maf with the custom tuning tube and the Y pipe is hand made per order and the tuning tube is bench flown one at a time for consistency. The stock maf only reads up to 1500kg/hr at 5 volts whereas ours reads 3800kg/hr.
Some of the most powerful P cars in this country including mine runs such a set up.
I would like to show all of you the videos I just took today to prove that such is not the case... I do believe that a few guys had some bad experience... but that could be from improper installation, lack of testing for boost and or vacuum leaks, or even a bad tune...
Here is the erratic idle and bucking a few have mentioned... I am not disagreeing that they did not have the problem. I am featuring my custom MAf solution on a kit thats puts down 700rwhp at 1.4 bar using the ford maf...
Please take a look at the videos and judge for yourself...

Damn Mark that was so laggy. I think you need a set of A28's
Just playing bro, I love that exhaust sound. Definatly good stuff. I can honestly say the car never bucked or had any type of inconsistant power delivery at all, just smooth as butter.

ford maf
I was one of the ones that had the same questions, I almost sold my Proto tuning and went with Evoms for this reason. I am not saying anything bad about Evoms. My Proto tune works just like stock. for the sort of major upgrades we did, I am very happy with the drivability.
Mark was 100% correct on this.

Looks good Mark!!!
I love the sound of my 44's when I have exhaust on LOL! With straight pipes on the car is so loud you hardly even hear them.
Though TiAL 50mm BOV's are a must! Nick will agree with me on this. Nothing sounds as bad *** as them!

Going to the track tomorrow even though the weather is horrid (90+ and a LOT of humidity). Not going to mph anywhere close to what I did but I'm hoping I can get a decent ET. Going with extra timing (the last time I ran I was on a lower setting then we made 868rwhp with because Justin forgot what setting he had it on) and about 1lb or 2 more of boost. Probably won't get into the 9s, but I'm going to try my damndest!

The weather is gonna get you... we are waiting till it cools off.. lol
we missed the spring because had some stupid issues... ( flywheel sensor) ... took a while to isolate it...
BTW, its running mafless too lol but not sure if we will keep it that way... the gt3 code is a little harder to get done according to Todd..
