Going to run an akrapovic cbr 1000
Knowing that he should kill me down low, we have agreed to go 70-160.....I have just installed a full 3 inch BBI exhuast so my car should run low 5 second 60-130's now.
I have a feeling that this bike is going to be a challenge....anyone familiar with it?

If BBI Exhaust will take a 5.7-5.9 car down to a 5.0 - 5.2 car then I'm getting a BBI so I can go from a 4.8 to a 4.0 car
You shouldn't have any problems. I ran a new ZX10R and a modded newer GSX-R1000 and put 5 cars or so on the GSX-R and a lot more on the ZX10R. That was without brake boosting and I also may or may not have forgot to shift into 4th for a few seconds LOL! Lil Powell goes "Man they stopped your pull for a sec and then you started walking again" I looked at him and said "Did you hear the rev limiter for a few seconds?" ... "I hate you so much....."
The guys were cool though they came up to the stop light and asked how much power the car made and I told them and they both said "Holy ****!!!" at the same time LOL! They may think twice before picking on a Porsche with straight pipes on it LOL!!!

If it's a newer cbr1000rr they are very quick. It sounds like he has a full system not just a slip on which means he also has a tune at the very least. If he's a good rider he may take you up to around 130 but after that aero really comes into play. Good luck.

If He's a really good rider and his Akrapovic system is the full system, with a Power Commander and a proper tune, you will have your hands full.. Also, how much does the rider weigh? Weight is critical.. If he's 220 lbs you have a slam dunk win.. if the rider is 120 lbs it makes a HUGE difference and you might have trouble.
Given that today's Sport Bikes have first gears that take you to 100 mph PLUS!! the gear he starts in will also make a difference.. Starting in first gear at 70 mph will mean he's up at 11,000 rpm give or take and with that type of power in first gear, keeping the nose down is a huge challenge...
From 70-160, I give you a good chance, because at speeds above about 130 mph, the Bike's aerodynamics come into play.
I think you will win unless he has other mods he's not telling you about (like nitrous!!!)
If it was the new BMW S1000RR with a full Akrapovic, Power Commander and good tune, it would be REAL interesting, given that those Bikes are making 200+ RWHP now...

If he can ride that is a high 9 sec/ 10.00 bike. I had a modded ZX10R and ran those times at 152-155 mph. Im not sure of the CBR but first gear in my 10R would pull to almost 100mph and more then once I broke the beams on my back tire. They can fly if you have the ***** to hang on.
But running 70-160 Im not sure how the bike will do. He might still be in 1st gear at that speed. Like I said, not too familiar with the CBR.
Good luck to ya
