Dr jitsu told everyone that he has the fastest BMW in the world. Some one should call him out.

The M3 is not a good platform for a very high HP turbo set up, the SC is much more in tune with the flavor of these cars.
I love my M3 for its balance and extremely easy drivability and comfort yet still being a fast car (especially on a road course).
For roll ons, however it is no match for a modded 996TT.

Fastest supercharged M3 my dear Walnut (although there is another that is about as fast as mine).

The SC is good for some, but some people want more. Im not at all a hater of the setup, but a turbo is just a different ball game. You should run a HPF E46 M3.

I spin through second gear but hook pretty well in 3rd, unless it is cold.
If my M3 raced my GT2 in a roll on it would lose by 15 lengths.
Bring your E46 to the Supra nats and I will give you a shot at her
PS everyone, I have found a new, amazing empty mile long strip about 6 miles out of Sugarland (its in the country) where we can do roll ons.....no cars, no cops.

I wish I could come to Texas mile or Supra nats, i would love to run your GT2. I cant recall your 60-130 times, what were they? RaceMX-M3 ran a 5.62 60-130 with his E46 M3 HPF Stg 2.5. He just upgraded to a stg 3 and hoping to break very low 5's which is doable! Im also going to go out for some 60-130 times with my big tires this time.

I ran a verified 5.79, but I have added over $15K in mods since then.
When the weather gets colder I will get a much better time.

Not criticizing, I'm genuinely curious.
If it's traction, well, we can still compare 100-130 times...or even 100-150 times.

Why is he the only M3 (S/C'd or T/C'd) to ever break into the 5's? It's pretty easy for a Porsche to do, so it seems strange that with all the fast M3's out there no one else (that I'm aware of) has done it.

Hopefully we will see more out of these cars soon. I got my 295/45/17's to fit and im going for the record shortly.

Do you think it might have anything to do with the larger base of modded Turbo Porsches and that the GT1 block has been being tuned/modified for quite some time?
#253
Well its odd but in the BMW community not many people own Vbox's, were starting to get more guys interested in it. There are a few guys that have ran 6's and some close to the 5's but you are right not many. The HPF stg 2.5 is capable of 5's. RaceMX-M3 from what i know is the only guy who would go out there and try over and over to get some times. And he had a good tire setup as well. But ya traction is a very high factor for this car... Which makes it very hard to get some 60-130 times. Trust me ive tried it even on my lowest boost setting. Much easier for a Porsche to do it, without a doubt.

With my GT30s (830 rwhp) I ran a 4.48 100-150. It was a 4.9-5.1 second 60-130 car back then. I'd like to compare our numbers to see how much faster you are than I was at that level.
And Vik - honestly...if you can't hook at 100 mph, you need to get yourself another car, brother.
Not being able to get traction at 100 mph on the street is a complete waste of power IMO. Good luck.

Awesome. Looking forward to it. Even if you can't hook from 60, please get a 100-150 run in; full-boost, 1100 rwhp, race gas, drag radials, the works.

I will do my best! Im hooking 2nd gear damn well in about 800whp mode and they tires are inflated to full 36psi at the moment! So i can see it holding 1000whp if i lower the tires. Nevertheless i will do my best, i will try to go 60-130 and a 100-150 various boost levels.

Also, the modding for both cars started about the same time (back in 2002-2003), but the Porsche is just much easier to modify and started out with turbos from the factory.
I think it has to do with platform limited traction. And in my opinion, if you can't hook, there's no point in even producing the power.
