Not going to lie but that 5series looks pretty mean on the Pro-stars. Is there any brakes available that would allow you to run the front runners to go along with it. That would be one sick looking car with the Prostars all the way around??

Me personally though, I respect ANYTHING that is fast I don't care if it is a damn Pinto. We are all in this as a hobby and we build what we can afford or find cool. All that matters is that we love what we do... That's the same story in the end for everyone...

 

Thanks - yeah I ran the pro stars up front for a bit until I realized I needed better brakes (and tires) to get the thing to stop on the street safely.



I am playing around with the idea of picking up 17" skinnies for the front but since this car is primarily a street car I just enjoy it with the rears.

 

Wow you ran that fast on the old LS6 stuff? My car has the old ARE heads which are decent but almost 60 rwhp down on some of the more recent heads.

VERY VERY SEXY!!!! I wonder how Weld Alumastars 2.0 would look on that thing? They make them in 17" front runners now which would give you something streetable as far as brakes go.

 

Yeah the Alumastars are available and so are some 17's from Greg Weld. Only thing that sucks is that I run 5 x 4 3/4" which is ever so slightly off, and the Alumastars are so expensive for what they were - I think I will/would just move to some CCWs, even though I love the prostar look. Right now the car is back on street tires/wheels because it keeps me from speeding like a nut (traction). Thanks for the complements though!

Yeah my heads were OLD MTI Stage 3s done back in 2002. They flowed 321cfm LOL!!! I had a 262/266 .7XX/.7XX on a 114 cam in it (I cant remember the LSA but I think it was 114).

Just to show you how much of a difference heads have gone. My brother had some Stage 2 LS1 (not LS6 or 5.3) that were converted to "Stage 3" (Just opened up the chamber for a 4.125 bore). They flowed 319cfm. It made 530rwhp on one dyno (MTI) and 507rwhp on our friend's dyno (G-Force). He picked up about 50rwhp on a 3.5yr old motor (LS2 427 with a MTI S1 Cam on a 114LSA (We called it the M1 since they didn't make it on that LSA)) with a set of Trickflow 245 heads (356cfm @ .600). The car would probably make a CRAP ton more power with a better cam and a freshened up motor. Still went 10.5s @ 128 (letting out) and went 132+mph a few times on motor to back it up.

 

I love all fast cars, and I love the backgrounds that some of us come from and the love most of us have for any fast cars! Powell 8's on your last setup was pretty insane!
