In some states if you get collector plates you don't have to do the test. Might want to check into it for your state.

Thanks......
Not ture- can affect all years... There was an assembly DEFECT in the early trannies that contributed to this issue, but the overwhelming number of '2nd gear pop out issues' are not this defect but rather missed shifts grinding the gear down and not enough retention force to hold them in...

The brass vs steel is also not true. ALL years it is brass. (at least for standard TT and X50)

"100 cell Cats" is not "one thing"... what that means is one company's 100 cell cat may pass (ie Europipe at $900 each) while another company's 100 cell cat might fail (ie not naming names)

i have found a critical step that is necessary to pass smog, and it has to do with all the "readiness" codes. if the car is modded ( exhaust/tune ) whatever. it's a good idea to ensure all your obd codes are set to "ready" or they won't pass the obd section of the test. same with any cel having been turned off recently. if that is the case, you'll have to "reset" the codes to ready by driving in the prescribed fashion to "reset" the codes. then the car will pass provided no other issues exist, of course. if they are not "ready" you'll fail regardless of the results of the actual test/ sniffer or otherwise.

i just went through this and it took me two days of f****ng with it to get the codes to ready without throwing another cel. ( i get cels occasionally and i think it's a tb issue ). so once they set to ready there i was, unwilling to turn off the car untill they re-tested it. i was in fact not willing to leave without a "Pass"
