High horsepower built 996tt owners ...chime in!!

Ya, but I don't think anyone on here is daily-driving their car at 1k rwhp. That's what adjustable boost is for.

I don't believe anyone who has any 1000 hp car (not just a Porsche) uses it for a daily.
If you have to use high boost to produce 1000 hp your problems can't help but to magnify. For that matter, if you use high boost for any power level what can go wrong will go wrong will magnify.

1000 hp @ 1 bar??? Is this also on pump gas??

there is definitely some supras close to 1k chp with autos that are daily's, as well as manuals...but yah other than the expense of the used supra, that car makes pretty cheap HUGE horsepower.

"The things that will bug you (mine are in order from most annoying to least).
Clutch engagement
Clutch/flywheel sounds
Other misc. sounds
Hose coming loose
Paranoid feeling
Worrying about something breaking
Sometimes race seats (if you have it)
Always wanting the best out of the car (again paranoid feeling)
Watch AFR's"
So nice to know it was'nt just me.

I don't make 1000rwhp, only 140rwhp from it. On low boost 18-19psi (~700rwhp (made 660rwhp on 17psi) the car drives perfect. I change the oil once every 4k miles or so. I haven't changed my spark plugs since I got the new setup and there is no signs to do so. I'm using those NGK Iridium plugs. If we weren't getting bombarded by rain I'd probably drive the car 2-3 times to work (50 mile drive total each day). I drove it the one day it didn't rain. I can't wait for it to clear up!!!
You should bring your car to The Texas Jam in Dallas in Spetember. There is a dyno day and a 1/4 day and a 60 to 130 contest.

You don't need race gas utilizing only one 1 bar. However, since this motor has a 2.8 bar capability ......... well you wouldn't want to make a mistake. It looks right now like we are going to convert to ethanol. Wouldn't want to not pass smog.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around "1000 HP at 1 bar". At the crank or the wheels - either one would be impressive.
The few guys on here running over a 1000 whp are doing it at 2 bar on C16.

1 bar on pump is done everyday. I've seen guys on this forum running 1.3-4 on pump. I currently run 1.1 on pump.

Scott -
I understand it will be a 4.4 liter. Like I said earlier I am just having a hard time wrapping my head around that kind of HP @ 1bar.
Chad -
I hope you make a 1000 HP at the crank at 1 bar. It will be an amazing accomplishment.
When can we expect a dyno being posted along with a 60-130 to back up the numbers?
