I don't make 1000rwhp, only 140rwhp from it. On low boost 18-19psi (~700rwhp (made 660rwhp on 17psi) the car drives perfect. I change the oil once every 4k miles or so. I haven't changed my spark plugs since I got the new setup and there is no signs to do so. I'm using those NGK Iridium plugs. If we weren't getting bombarded by rain I'd probably drive the car 2-3 times to work (50 mile drive total each day). I drove it the one day it didn't rain. I can't wait for it to clear up!!!

Also was going to say the main reason why I don't mind driving this car as much as I do is because of the Tilton Triple Disk. It is by far the BEST clutch I've ever driven. The SELECT few people who have driven the car can attest to that.

As you know my car made 1109AWHP....I get her back tomorrow with a pump file and we will have those numbers tomorrow am (she made 757RWHP on the prior setup). I will have the race file in Mid August when Todd Z come down. I can probably answer your question in 6 months. I dont feel comfortable saying reliable now for obvious reasons.

its not as bad as it sounds... probably the noises from the high end clutches, WGs, DVs etc make it more aggressive in feel then anything else...
I have a set of hta V banded gt35rs... a custom gt3 race head... had some minor issues here and there... but thats normal at this stage... especially when your trying to run 4s 60 to 130 and 9s at the track... your car will perform as good as the install... its crucial at that level...

Honestly i doubt cars in the 1000whp range run reliably enough for daily driving. Although I dont own a high hp Porsche i can only give you my experience with another brand.
The things that will bug you (mine are in order from most annoying to least).
Clutch engagement
Clutch/flywheel sounds
Other misc. sounds
Hose coming loose
Paranoid feeling
Worrying about something breaking
Sometimes race seats (if you have it)
Always wanting the best out of the car (again paranoid feeling)
Watch AFR's
Lol other then that have fun. I drive my car 1-2 week, its very fun but makes you want to drive something comfortable for sure.

I had my 3.8 liter turbo built in the summer of 07 and for the last three years I have had no problems with the motor. Honestly, I probably have 15,000 miles on my car since the build. Many people in the supra community, HPD as well as the local H town guys can probably give you an honest opinion of my car. The power my car has made was over 1100 RWP at 32 pounds of boost. I am currently upgrading the fuel system and should have some new numbers from The Texas Jam in september. I hope this helps.

My best friend Peter owns a fully-built 3.8 liter car. He probably drives it 5 times per week and it's been ROCK solid for 2+ years and app. 12k miles. I don't think you could ask for a more daily-driveable, big HP setup than his.

The answer is yes, they can be very reliable when built with that goal. 1000 hp @ 1 bar will hardly tax the motor. It can idle and handle low rpm's without a hitch as well as develop monster power with low boost. However, it's not inexpensive to set up.
