I'm curious to see what the 996 had as well. HadiLaw has similar mods I had when I sold my E55. There was a handful of us running the 185mm custom made crank pulley.

That E55 is a low 11 sec car. I went 11.4 on my 172mm pulley which was making less boost.

I have to laugh at the guys on that forum that seem surprised by the outcome. I have nothing against E55s (I actually really like them), but the fastest ones listed on dragtimes aren't even as fast as some of our basic 18G cars.

They don't seem like they'd be very difficult to beat.

And the 1/4 is the e55's strong suit. These cars are not that fast from a roll. Gearing and weight combined just don't make it happen. If that P-car had built internals I would be shocked. He would have destroyed the benz.

Exactly. I never did rolls in my E55 - well maybe a few times I got peer pressured into them. Car did not like to be kept in gear or manually shifted....

Drag racing on the street that car was unstopable. My friend used to own the 996tt I own now, and I beat him bad. I also beat another yellow 996tt with some mods (not sure on specifics, sneaky owner) and another black 996tt with k24s, 1.2bar, exhaust, giac tune and supporting mods. The black k24 car was actually one of the rolls I did and I beat him by a 1/2 car from a roll, and by a 1/2 basketball court from a dig.

Mark, your car was a beast. I don't recall ever seeing you lose.

Thx man - it was a ALOT fun on the street. Consistent wins.

That black supra in one of my videos beat me before, when he was on DRs and I was on street tires. He launches so good ..... I needed a good launch to not fall behind at the start, I didn't have enough power to play too much catchup with him. His car was auto and on DRs so it was also very consistent on the street.

Ford GT with Pulley&Tune beat me from a roll (another mistake on my part lol). He wouldn't go from a stop since he knew he was going to lose, I just wanted to run a "cool" car.

I also lost to a mid 10 sec 1st gen AWD DSM at that same light, when my E55 was still stock.

I love our E55. Nice compliment to the 996TT. Ours is the ultimate sleeper -- one of just a few E55 station wagons imported. Actually a little quicker off the line then the sedan as it launches better.

It's fun to swap cars between the two. Next summer my wife and I are heading to the strip to run each other. I hate the idea of losing to my hot blond wife in her station wagon.

just noticed this thread....

I do not have internals...not sure why he posted that.

I just have 16g, exhaust, i/cs and softronic tune. I was running race gas during those runs.

He wants me to go to the drag strip on Friday. I know I will get crushed there...wish i had a torque converter!!
