GT2 RS vs ZR1 0-300 km/h data

Wow, it's comments like these that make me wonder whether I should have bought a Porsche. I hate the idea of being associated with pompous, narrow-minded people that think that an American car can't possible be as good.
Need I remind you of the times of the ZR-1 and CTS-V around the 'Ring? Pretty sure that is not just a 'straight line'.
Personally, I loved my C6. So much better looking than my 996TT. The only reason I downgraded to the P-car was so I could use it in the snow as my winter beater

Anyway bad ***... Just an FYI this was my last car...
This is my brothers car (Lil Powell)... Maybe even coming down soon enough for a 44Xci motor and a HUGE thumper (turbo) and ZR1 Tranny/Rearend... If not it'll be BIG with just as much n2o...
Obviously I am a real "pompous *******" that would NEVER own a GM product (oh wait I still even drive a 09 Z71 daily)...

And just a LITTLE FYI since you obviously don't read my post in ANY other threads... I make a lot of my comments as a joke! But still see post above... Been a long morning and not in the best of moods, but oh well!

I'm glad you're enjoying your winter beater.

If it matters any... I love your Vette's Eric, mainly because you make Porsche's look silly on the road course and on the drag strip!
But you do own a GT2 so you can't voice your opinion because you support both sides...
I guess I can't either because I do a lot of work on Lil Powell's car too...
Oh well!!!

But regardless both nut riders for both are going to show up making excuses.. "Well if you put a Pully on the ZR1 it'll do better" ... "If you put a tune on the Porsche it'll do better"... You know how it goes!

On another note... I fully expect Sean (Jitsu) to come in here and say something stupid and Paulie to follow him in and correct him, while making fun of him. God how I love you guys! LOL!!!

On an even sadder note. Yes - this will thread will probably end up Houston Ghey at some point.

Or people on motorcycles that he claims are racing. Damn those 40-50yr old guys on their Harleys always picking races!!!

This argument is just like the Mustang vs Camaro (well 2011 Mustang vs 2010 Camaro)... One finally has a decent edge and the smack talk still continues with excuses as to why. Though my point on that one is 2011 Mustang GT > 2010 Camaro SS What can I say my first car was a Ford (Mustang)!

A couple of comments from someone who can claim to be rather unbiased. I owned a very recent SC'd 7 liter vette, several Prosches including a very high end 2004 with all the goodies, Aston, and a Ferrari, and love them all in their own way. so I'm not knocking any car, but . . .
First, I've seen data that suggests the ZR1 is faster than indicated here. No offense, but there are always different sources and one can prove just about anything by selectively choosing test data. My impression has been the ZR1is the faster car while the Porsche is the better car.
Regardless, the 'vette is a legit sports car but one built to a lower budget and one where all the money is spent on speed, rather than quality anything: it isn't body by Fisher, it's body by Fisher-Price - just cheap toy-like plastic interior pieces, etc. I think it is unfair to label them a car for the low classes though: of it is the only really high performance car folks can afford. And I know more snobs who bought a Porsche just to show off and really know or care little about cars, than low-lifes who own a 'vette: you could (and people do) characterize the Porsche as a car for people trying to show off.
No doubt, Porsches are incredibly well designed, very well engineered, fast, built with good quality materials and durable as hell -- but then they should be for the money. To me, its just the money: Porsches are not great bargains. I thought my Aston Vantage a much better car, overall, and better value for the money, than the Porsche I traded in on it, even though it was slower in a straight line or around a track - for one thing it handled better (that was a big shock) and it was much better built and just the epitome of elegance -- so much so that I miss it as a daily driver now, even though I have a Ferrari , enough that I'm going to pick up a used 2007-2008 (one with the annoying front engine seal repair done) when I can get one.
Actually, the Ferrari, at a drive out of $214K, strikes me as more of a bargain than any of the Porsches I owned or have seen at the dealer recently. The quality is very good if not quite up to Aston levels, its very very fast although not quite as fast as the ZR1 or even some of the top end 997s for sale now, but it is by far the most balanced and simpatico car I have ever driven, and much easier to live with as a daily driver than anything else I have seen that is even nearly as - a GT2 RS or a ZR1, or the Nissan are louder, rougher, and just would not be as easy to live with

I've owned a Corvette and Porsche. The porsche is just that much more focused, buttoned down and sharp. The quality of a P car can only be appreciated after years of ownership and some flogging... the only thing I miss? Burnouts..... I want a car to do long, smokey burnouts in... Viper?
