P0174 and P0171 Codes?

P0174 and P0171 Codes?

I am getting the following codes at around 50 mile intervals after clearing the ECU memory.

P0174 Porsche Fault Code 361
Oxygen sensing adaptation
Idle Range Bank 2

P0171 Porsche Fault Code 360
Oxygen sensing adaptation
Idle Range Bank 1

I have taken the following actions but I still get these codes, car runs fine no hesitation or rough idle but get a really loud whine from the power steering reservoir (pentosin) and occasional clutch pedal stiffness. Not sure if its related. Can a faulty power steering reservoir throw codes? Or could this whine be something else? It comes only after the car heats up.

New o2 sensors (all 4)
New MAF sensor
Tightened a loose gas cap

I just changed the MAF and all o2 sensors, all are brand new. I am selling my car next week, just want to make sure car is 100% for the new owner.

How can i look for the exhaust leak?

No. But these codes aren't related to boost leak ? It comes up when the power steering reservoir makes the whine..not sure if its related or just coincidental.

I have gotten lots of "unrelated" codes from minor boost leaks. I have found that several of my "maf" related problems were really just boost leaks. Besides it takes like 10 min to do it . . . I do one now every time I work on the car.

The whine from the power steering reservoir is it's own problem. The stiff clutch is probably the accumulator. Is the clutch stiff once the car is running or just before starting after sitting overnight?

Whats a quick and dirty way of testing for boost leaks?

I use a PVC plug with a hose barb epoxied into it. I set my compressor at about 21 lbs (my max boost). Just remove the airbox and MAF and put a plug in. You can use a 2 inch rubber coupler and 2in to 3in adapter for a more in depth test from the turbos. You will get some leakdown, so do not expect it to hold pressure forever.

the car runs very strong , i doubt its a boost leak. My mechanic is going to pressure test and check for vaccum leaks etc. I also left a message for Tony at EPL, i want to see what he says as well.

Are you sure that the whine is PS pump? Could it be the secondary air injection pump? This could affect what the O2 sensors see.
