start up smoke

I've notice that my car doesn't make the start up smoke anymore with the new exhaust (w/o cats), just an observation

I noticed that if I have my oil tank filled to either the top bar or the one below it, i'll get the puff on about 30% of my starts. If I have it at half or below, I rarely get a puff of smoke. Either my gauge is off or that is just how it is!

If you do quick starts and then shut down in any Porsche you will get some start up smoke from my experience. I usually make sure the car is warmed up/cooled off good and never see smoke.

Yeah man.. I used to pull my wife's Cayenne S out to wash it and it would smoke like a Pinto when I started it back up. I started leaving the car running for a few minutes when I would back it out and then shut it down and the smoke disappeared. One thing to note as well, if it smokes like this often you are probably going to foul your plugs eventually. Try this method and I bet everyone will be pleased with the lack of smoke.

+1

When I cannot cool it down properly I always see smoke on restart. The same goes for lack of warming up.
