Opinions on a 996 GT3 wing on a 996 Turbo?

I know someone selling a genuine 996 GT3 deck-lid. I'm told it will fit a turbo but needs the decklid extended by an inch or two.

Thoughts?

If it needs "extending" - why would you say it "fits"? I'm sure it would look nice, but will it be worth the hassle of having to modify it to fit when you could buy a suitable substitute that would fit right off the shelf.

OK fits with modification. I'm not aware of anyone making a GT3 decklid for the turbo, but I am speaking to a vendor about a potential group buy on a custom 9997 GT3 wing mated to a 996 TT decklid (as a complete bolt-on decklid).

its totally possible to make the actual decklid fit. A little fiberglass and u are golden. BUT the inside placement is different. it can be modified to work as well but this will be much more work. these are the kinds of mods no one does, but when one person does them its a completely unique modification.

Ari, I don't know if you've given this a thought. I don't think the stock GT3 wing would look right on a Turbo because the GT3 is a narrow-body car which means the ends of the wing probably will look a little off since they don't stick out close enough to the edge of the width of the car, unless you put on the RS wing, in which case it would look much better suited to the widebody Turbo. But if you're gonna do that, then you might as well go with the GT2 wing instead. It would certainly be cheaper. But if you just want to do something different, think about adding the GT3RS wing blade to the GT3 decklid. I do applaud that you're trying to do something different, I just don't think it'll look right on a widebody turbo (unless you went with the RS wing).
