I think every brand of car has been down this road. Sucks for the owner.

Judging by the responses to this thread, it happens pretty often and to the tune of 36 thousand dollars.

That's a freaking shame. Hate to think of the pain that car owner is going through.

I hate to hear or in this case see that happening to anyone. This doesn't bode well for that tuner.

That blows... Do you guys think this was just waiting to happen due to poor tuning? or due to engineering or manufacturing issues? I thought GT-R's were bulletproof as well.

Might be a combination of things...tuning not the least. Not likely engineering as there are many very fast stock engine cars out there. Driver error, not watching gauges, if he had any? What I think everyone will agree on is it is ALMOST always preventable, unless he was intentionally running way too much boost.

There are a lot of videos of this sportec GT-R spanking a lot of cars.

No car is bulletproof. Every brand can have its motor blow.
Planes dont fall out of the sky? Boats dont sink? come on!

If you play you gotta pay sometimes!

Cars like the GT-R, Porsches, etc are extremely fast out the box. But our enthusiastic addiction to speed causes us to push these cars further!

Yea,but some brands hold much better the abuse besides you need a very good tunner.
