Because no Porsche has EVER failed due to an aftermarket tune...
Expose yourself to reality, man... At least once, you've got to check it out. It's quite interesting.

hrm 700hp gt-r beats stock 996gt2 for short period of time then has Mechanical Failure. hrm interesting.
would like to know the cause of failure, but 36k for a japanese motor cmon those are porsche prices.

The godzilla gif as pretty funny. I'd be interested in knowing what happened. hopefully someone will find out soon on nagtroc.
But it looks like the classic catastrophic failure, water in the exhaust. At best, lifted head. At first I thought it might be a blown tranny. Wonder if the car was using an EBC, which does override safety controls and the user wanted just that little more power

This issue was resolved in Jan '09. GT-R owners can launch whenever the hell we want.

Nope. There is no 'magic' button for launching anymore. You can do it in either VDC-normal, or VDC-R (better results). I'm proof of that. As long as you don't ABUSE the car (launching while engine is cold, repeatedly, 50 times on your daily commute).
