Read an article today that said a car is sold on eBay every 60 seconds. Didn't differentiate by price/model.

I bought my car from a Houston Porsche dealership but only after viewing it on eBay. I think eBay recognizes what goes on and is content to make their money with the listing on these pricier items. The exposure is tremendous and that's what you pay for. Every so often I guess there are exceptions but most exotics probably change hands after the fact.

what is the typical cost for listing a 40-50k car on ebay ? (assuming you set a high reserve that shouldnt be met, just using ebay for exposure.)

I have been looking on ebay regularly and see great "buy it now" prices as compared to my dealer.

I can say for certain that automatics take a big hit. Not sure why, but I can only assume there are less buyes looking for an automatic sports car?
