I am working on the date to fly back home to the UK and drive the Car... I REALLY hope that driving it seals the deal for me... I'm the type of person that values function over form any day... As long as the Car performs, I can get over it's slightly disappointing (in my opinion) looks...

Cheers..

A friend of mine introduce me on Sunday to one of the coolest/ intelligence, self made person i ever met. The owner of these cars(pic) was so knowledgeable about super cars that i was stunned!! He owns 55+ supercars and he got the same reaction like you regarding the 918, i can honestly say, he repeat your words. He was there for the 918 presentation and he was talking to few people from Porsche about it. He was asking them about the performance numbers and the HP of the car and they were talking about how green is the car and MPG!!!
Here are some pics from his daily drivers at the garage(The sound of the Scuderia 16M is insane):

To me these new cars are water downed. I understand all this new technology is awesome but a supercar should be left raw, that it blows your mind in terms of experience and backbone breaking imo. I understand many will not view it that way like me. I hate what has been produced from the early 90s generation to now. I should have been born in the earlier period of time when cars were classy, had beautiful curves and it took some real nut case to tame one. Last true cars in terms of supercars are over. F40, F50, Mclaren F1, etc. those were among the last true supercars.

Petros,

I'm glad your friend and I think alike. He should keep that CGT as it will be the last true Porsche built, driver engaging, super car, with super human car talents needed to drive. Along with the 996 GT2 and perhaps even the GT2 RS. None of the new cars will be built with 6 speed in mind.

No,
his has a huge warehouse with 50+ exotics (has an enzo) and he has an October delivery for the Ferrari GTO and 599 spyder. We were talking about cars for 4 hrs.
He spoke highly for the work of AWE-TUNING (i didnt know they working on Bentleys too and was raving how they tune the car to perfection).

the new McLaren is a gallardo and R8 on steroids... the brakes are off a porsche cayenne/ gallardo front brakes and gallardo rear brakes.. the tail lights look like new gallardo lights tweaked. i would love to see under the car that would seal the deal if its a gallardo or not...I wish it has a BMW engine like the old F1 and not a glorified audi RS6 motor.
