Built 996tt vs Built 997tt

Hey guys

On 6speedonline 60-130 list we got :-

4.25 - dk996tt / 997TT AWD / 1-shift (stock internals)
4.25 - art4iza / RWD / 0-shifts
4.54 - Keithta / 997TT AWD / 1-shift (stock internals)
4.62 - Markski / RWD / 2-shifts
4.67 - Divexxtreme / RWD 996TT / 2-shifts
4.81 - Joetwint / RWD / 2-shifts

Both David and Keith bolt-ons 997tt ran as quick as built 996tt w/bigger turbos

What kind of 60-130 we could see if we build 997tt with bigger turbos??? is it time to see high 3's on Porsche world??

From my understanding after a conversation I had with Keith on the phone that he does have headstuds and a few modifications when he had cam problems on his 997TT which would make it not stock internal.

When it gets cold I want to make one pass 2nd to 3rd on my 27.5" drag radials and see how much it improves my time.

my car is the only one on there that was pulled from another run (Texas mile)and only running about 900awhp.I have yet to do a dedicated 60-130 with all 1100hp.The car is too fast to do it on the street in NY,it will have to be at the track when it cools down here.I suspect it is a 3 sec car should i be able to hold traction....which is the key.For instance with about 975-1000@wheels it ran a 5.2 60-130 (pulled from a Texas Mile pass) yet on the same pass (Texas mile)ran 6.1 seconds 130-190mph traction is the key. Point is,when they get to the level of the cars above it matters more what mods are done than which model as they both are very similar.

Seems like they(997s) are running 2 bar of boost thus low 4s... but it really comes down to many factors... like tires, weather, driver, turbos, tranny, weight... etc. A motor build has not that much to do with a 60 to 130 if the current set ups are already pushing 30psi...
More power= harder to drive

Keep in mind, 8 of the top 10 fastest trap speeds were all ran by 996s. Trap speed means more to me than 60-130.

11.00 @ 151.4 - S-351
09.67 @ 149.8 – EVOMS / RWD
10.30 @ 149.3 - Powell / RWD (stock internals)
09.90 @ 149.1 - EVOMS / 997TT AWD
10.83 @ 148.0 - Divexxtreme / RWD
10.58 @ 146.6 - Chris Green / RWD (stock internals)
09.79 @ 146.4 - dk996tt / 997TT AWD (stock internals)
09.91 @ 145.6 - Markski / RWD
10.91 @ 144.0 - Art4iza / RWD
10.82 @ 143.1 - AtomicZ / GT2 (stock internals)

I know 3.6 to 3.8 won't make a huge differance but what about if we get ported heads, bigger valves ,redical cams...etc ? won't get better 60-130??

Trap....ET which is basically traction and a big part of it being the 1st 60 foot and how well it leaves the line has nothing to do with which one will win from a highway roll. For instance to cars running 11.90 one at 115 mph and the other at 120 mph...the 120 mph car will pull much harder from a roll.

i think that at these types of power levels, it is going to come down to who can actually figure out how to put the power to the ground. in which case, the awd configurations will have an advantage over the rwd cars. i also suspect that as we continue to push the envelope, we will soon see 3.XX 60 - 130 times, as well as 1/4 mile trap speeds in the mid to high 150's or even low 160's.
