My new 2001 GT2!

The car is awesome. No it isn't from Michael Stead Porsche. IT is also a 2001. Not sure Chris mentioned that. It is a beauty in person and nearly perfect. I checked it out very closely, so chris may have to get the interior cleaned a bit, I did bring a towel. Since D33PBLUE is not married he has no need to worry about the "Widowmaker" moniker.
Congrats bro, can't wait to get it on the road.
Oh, I did not notice a clear bra on it, so maybe they can do that before it leaves the place.

Do you know if it was originally a German delivery car that was brought to the US by the first owner? I want to make sure my info is correct for the 996 GT2 list. Thanks.

yes it is and it was certified in the US. I'll try and get you more info. Interesting it has steel rotors instead of carbon.

Unfortunately, since Dennis jizzed all over the car, it just ruined for me....lol
I ended up not getting this car, it is gorgeous and great price but already having a monster turbo and getting ready to sell my home and more overseas deployments complicated this purchase...hard decision but it was the right one :-(
Scott, I'll send you the VIN so know of its existence. There is also a Lapis Blue that had belonged to Wayne Gretzky in NV I believe.

Scott, my info is that it was a single owner import from Germany, apparently they had to have it NOW back in 2001. It went through Northern California to get US certified, I had it thoroughly inspected by a trusted tech, doesn't look like any accidents, rollbacks currently has 10,514 miles on the ODO.
My tech also said that it pulled very strong, more so than some others he had recently driven.
If it wasn't for all the logistical crap going on, it would be in the garage. If anyone may be interested, PM myself or prsche951 so we can get referral credit to our tech.

Sorry to hear about the car.... sounds like you've got a lot on your plate right now. I think you won't miss it too much considering the "beast" you call a daily driver will keep you happy for a lot more miles. Btw, I did notice the steel rotors, did'nt know they came with that option. To those in the know, how many were produced in 01?

no that bank is closed until kids university loans. The other bank is in CA. I stay at that banks hotel when we vacation there...lol. I figure he can give me a no interest loan with payments starting in 50 years

none were sold in the US in 2001 except the gray market cars of which there was about 5 maybe. As for worldwide production, don't know. This car will reside in CA. I will get the money by Tuesday. The bank is 95% convinced(hopefully no change of heart)..
