Props to EPL
Hey guys. This is my first post here, and I just wanted to give Tony, Robin and the other guys at EPL the credit they deserve. The Alpha GT2871's recieved the first real test last night. A pal with a C6 vette, built motor, procharger, etc..., and I got in the mix. He "claims" 800hp, but after we were done I told him if he has 800hp then he has some real issues to work out. I pulled him 2 consecutive runs 45-50 to 150ish by at least 2 cars. I gave him the jump both times.
Oh and I don't even have the meth kit hooked up yet!
Great job EPL!

I have had a couple of PM's about my mods but I don't have enough posts. Simply put here are my mods guys.
1. K&N filter
2. EVOMS fresh air inlets
3. Tial GT2871r turbos
4. 5 bar fpr
5. EPL flash
I am running my stock injectors at 85-6% duty cycle and made 421awhp on a freaky conservative dyno...noteworthy...same Evo with mods made 405 on a different dyno and 286 on this one and my pals Viper on NOS made 690 on one and 430 on this one.
I have ordered the 72lbs injectors and aquamist meth kit from EPL...should make 70+whp...or 40ish on the dyno I have available.
Oh and one more thing...don't hesitate using SPEC Clutches...I run the Stage 2+ with zero issues.
Hope this helps

Pretty damn similar mods to what I had on mine from EPL. Tony and Dave were great when I was dealing with them. I hear Robin is too.
But, that Vette had something wrong. Based on those mods he has, he should have taken you easily.

No doubt...i think it's his clutch. Hopefully he'll get it worked out AFTER I get my injectors and meth installed. I still don't think I would get him if his numbers are true, but I haven't seen any dyno sheets!!!

Simply put...what lag? These spool 2-300rpm faster than stock and hit REALLY HARD around 3200ish. These are "the turbos" to get for all around driveability. If all you want is top end then get the GT3076r's for a couple of hundred more. You will make more power...but will lose more driveability in my opinion. Make no mistake, the GT2871's pull very hard up top but do die off slightly at 6500.

Your gonna love the water/meth (you running 50/50 mix?) and 72lb inj. It's a nice extra boost at the top! I have same set up but with 3071's, fun, fun, fun, but need better tires now EPL is a great company and all there staff!

EngineLogics on Dover(SW Houston) has fixed the issues and I would recommend them in a heartbeat. Talk to Chris there and tell him I sent you. The dyno is known as "The Heartbreaker" because it does not give you high numbers, but it is the best dyno for tuning and is the only AWD dyno I know of in Houston that we can use. If anyone knows of another one please chime in.

I had a couple of PM's about the bad garage experience I had. The guy was a neighbor of mine at my previous home. Bottom line is I told him I wouldn't slam him if he had my car ready the next day...It was leaving his shop either way, on a truck or me driving. 50+ days to install a bolt-on kit and change the clutch is a bit excessive. He stayed all night and did the best he could.
That said just don't take it to a European specialist in the Hobby area where the owner drives a Ferrari(red).
I had two really good experiences with Terry Lawell(996tt owner) at Lawell Performance and Chris at Engine Logics...the later has the dyno on sight.
I would be happy to answer any PM's but just don't have enough posts yet.
