Donkey is infamous around these parts
Hello,

Does anyone know if dgreen78 is still selling these? I'm very interested in the conversion but I cannot email this gentleman because of my low post count.

Thanks.

Thank you sir!

I'd rather not litter the board with worthless posts just to get my count up to send a PM. I'm not much of a poster anyhow, mostly just read, search and gather information.

Thanks again,
Eric

No problem, Don (dgreen) responded to me and says he will get in touch with you.
It's a great mod, it still works excellently. Well worth the effort.

+1, Only good things to say about Don and my experience with him.

Scott, my hose failed again! Have a solution under way now that should resolve it for good though, good times!: )

Are you serious?? Same failure mechanism at the crimp end?

I have put a reasonable amount of stop & go traffic on my setup, and so far, so good. Every once in a while I think about your driveway catastrophe and think about the tow ride home Were you stranded this time?

Man, I wish I was kidding. The driveway failure was a cream puff compared to this last one man, all I had to do was push it into the garage and take my time to workout a tow to the shop, or lift it up if I was going to do the work myself. This time around, not so lucky. I had put over 200 miles on the "fixed" line, so I was feeling comfortable with it. Couple weeks ago I drove the car downtown and parked in a underground garage. Got there ok, as I pulled up to the teller, I took it out of gear, paid the teller, and went to put it back into first and pop. I knew right away it was the same line, as the clutch just sat on the floor. I was lucky enough to not have anyone behind me and the teller was nice enough to help me get it into a spot close to the door while I figured out how to get it towed. I ended up having to utilize an unknown tow company that used a dolly system to tow it a couple miles to my shop (the one nice thing was at least my shop is also located in that area). Anyways, turns out my suspicion was right, the hose failed. My confidence in having a local hydraulic/hose shop re make the hose for me is at zero at this point. Fortunately, my shop has found a solution and the car will be back on the road in the next few days, cant wait.

I dont think the guys that have had their hoses made and have been working have anything to worry about, I seem to be the exception. Just very frustrating that a $100 hose is keeping me off the road.

Justin

Justin that sucks, luckily mine is still working great. Been a year and a half or so in BRUTAL stop and go traffic.
Must be the hydraulic shop. Hard to find good help these days.
Hope you get it all straightened out, call me if you don't.

Gearhead,

I bought a gt2 hose. Can you explain why it is too short? I would think an oem gt2 hose would be the perfect length....

Trust me m3ntal the stock gt2 hose is too short. It will barely fit and put incredibly sharp 90 degree bends at the connectors to get it to work. Plus you can't use the factory hangers.
To me it just seemed like a massive leak waiting to happen forcing a tow job to get it home. It's cheap to do and worth the effort if nothing else but peice of mind.
The reason it's not the same as a gt2, the hard lines on the car are different in length on the turbo as the factory slave is waayy different between a turbo and gt2.
When you start pulling it apart you will see what I mean.
Good luck. The mod is totally worth the effort.
