RUF SSK problems

Had my dealer install the Ruf undercar SSK. Set it at 30% reduction. Shifts are much better, but now it's difficult to make the 2-3 shift. The extra effort isn't the problem, it's just hard to find the gear now.

Is this an adjustment problem? None of the other shifts are problematic. 4-5 shift is easy.

If I shift slowly it'll work, but if I try anything quicker, it's very difficult to find the gate.

Is the in-car short shifter a better plan?

B&M makes the Techart and the RUFF. I got the B&M under car SSK from Brandywine and it was great I used the 30% reduction as well and all was smooth..

I have both the undercar and the in car short shift

shifts are very close and I have no trouble at all

The B&M undercar has been backordered for at least 6 monts now

Yeah, that's why I ended up getting the Ruf part. I think it's the same as the B&M one, but the B&M SSK has been on back order forever.

That's because the RUF ( green) and TechArt ( red ) versions of the identical undercar SSK kit are $600 vs $170-200 for the B&M ( blue) one , just painted different colors . Some of the early RUF kits need to be modified as one of the holes is incorrect on the aluminum piece. The B&M ones were always correct. If you have one of the later RUF kits , can't see how the undercar kit can mess up the 2-3 shift unless the installer didn't " click " one of the two shifter cables' rear locating collars snuggly into the replacement bracket's locking slots and now it has popped out of position.

I think it just takes some getting used to, and make sure you installed everything the right way.

Try it on the 20% (middle) setting and see if it feels better.

I just recently drove a car with the in-car B&M SSK and under full acceleration and fast shifts it did not shift smothly into third gear.

Slow shifts were OK. It might have to do with the install. What is there to go wrong? Are there any adjustments to be made during or after the install?

Maybe the stock in car shifter cables need adjustment.
I talked with B&M and they made undercar shifters that were blue or black colored. The green or red ones are not made by B&M.

I have the Ruf for over a year and it is set at the shortest throw. Never had any issues changing gears and it is a smooth as stock.

Due to the change in geometry of the shift cables the in car shifter needs to be adjusted. I have had to do this on some of the undercar installs we have performed.
