Towed turbo w / out tow hook today

The Turbo ran out of gas today since my fuel gauge was not functioning. I was in a remote area and my tow hook was not in the car ( long story). The tow truck driver wrapped a strap around the passenger side suspension / frame and pulled it very gently onto the FLATBED. Guys, you don't think I damaged any suspension components, do you? I filled up the tank, drove it, and probably out of paranoia, it fells a bit 'floaty'. It's probably all in my head, but......any thoughts ?

How is it possible for anyone on the forum to tell if you damaged your suspension? If your concerned why not make an appointment at your local shop and have it check out?

Do you have pics? Where did they drag your car from? What does "strap around the passenger side suspension / frame" mean? What does it look like? Have you rechecked your alignment?

Just curious why in the world you'd choose that option versus having someone come out with a .5 gallon can of gas and give you an emergency fill on site so you wouldn't have to crank it onto a tow truck. Were there extenuating circumstances preventing that option or something?

I agree w/Steve. Hopefully the tow driver didn't bend a control arm or a vital suspension part; I've seen this happen many of times.

I was in a deserted and somewhat dangerous rural area on back roads near the florida everglades and I was not going to put my family through that, that was not an option.....

It's obvious that I am not asking for a diagnosis. I just wanted to know if someone had experienced a similar situation and damaged their suspension in the process. The car is driving perfect now. Thanks for your helpful feedback.

He did wrap the strap around the passenger side lower control arm. I guess I got lucky that no damage was done after all. Just had my Porsche certified technician come to my house and check out the car. Alls good thanks.,

No worries...I figured there was more to the story since I doubt most Porsche owners would have opted for the option you did by default.

It seems odd that the tow-truck driver didn't have gas on board though, you'd figure those guys would always carry a few spare gallons.

I hope your suspension is fine, and am guessing you won't have much to worry about. Cheers!

He wrapped the strap around the passenger side lower control arm. I had it checked out and thank goodness there is nothing wrong. I guess I got lucky.

Thanks, I asked the towing service to bring gas actually, but of course they had none when they arrived. Figures....one of those days.
