Dan Aweida's Cup car and Freightliner rig were stolen yesterday 2/20/05 sometime after noon CST. Please keep your eyes out and pass along to anyone you know.

Here are the details:

Autosport Werks - graphics (may be off by now)
2004 Freightliner Toterhome (16' blue interior) - License 916-KIG
2004 3 Car hauler - Mirror finish rear liftgate - License 497-HMG
GT3 Cup Car #22 - Yellow, white & Blue graphics
4 wheel dynapak 4 wheel portable dyno & many spares

Damn. Where was it reported from? What state are the tags?

 

You should maybe say what part of the country this happened in since it is unlikely for the truck to be in San Diego today if it just got boosted in Daytona yesterday.

Any port town is bad news for a race car to be stolen in. South America is just a short container ride away.

 

Wow. It takes a real set to boost a combo that large. Probably sitting in a big paint booth as we speak.

 

Dan runs a speed shop in Denver so I am guessing the tags would be Colorado. Where did it say the rig was boosted in Daytona? Sebring was last weekend, Phoenix is next weekend, so maybe someplace in-between...?

This really sucks.

Stole the whole thing, out of a locked warehouse off Hwy 36 in Broomfield, Colorado.

The story made the 10PM news tonight here in Denver. They said they found the stolen "trucks and Cars" abandoned but no suspects.

I hope they find the a-holes...

 

Yikes, I got to hang out in the rig during SEMA - that's ridiculous that someone would want to steal that, it's not like you could turn it around for cash...

Hope it's found undamaged, the ASW guys are good people.
