Anyone use Import Performance Transmission on their tiptronic?
http://www.importperformancetrans.com/catalog/mercedes-benz-24-1.html
These guys said they have done 20+ porsche tiptronics....
~$4.5k to modify tip to hold better and more clutches, modified valve body for faster shipping.
Custom TC is an additional $800
They do not modify the TCU.
Any experiences?

IPT? They really said they've done 20+?
I don't know how much more experience they have now but back in the days it was a hit or miss with the B5 S4's and that was with maybe 500tq at the wheels.

Our experiences with ALL b5 s4 tip trans builders has been hit or miss. As for IPT building 20+ 996 trans, I know there is/was another company private labeling IPT as there own upgrade, most of these car seem to be doing just fine.

Yeah he must have meant that they have worked on 20+ trannys going into benz's, not porsches....if they did 20+ porsches, this thread would have many more replies lol.
I will follow-up with him and post what I find out.
However, this seems like a great alternative to sending to Europe and I am guessing they warranty the trannys as well.
IPT also mentioned that their work on the valve bodies makes the car shift quicker and smoother, WITHOUT modifying the TCU...
I have heard from people on this forum in my searches that you must modify the TCU to quicken shifts (Which is why MKB needs your TCU when they modify your tip).
