that's the point. the 65 is so badly traction limited that it performs in line with the 55 unlessl you are either rolling or well above those speeds. adding more power via ECU upgrades will not only ruin the tranny as per MB (it can't take any more torque), but will also further hinder any perforrmance measure which starts from a dead stop.
MB probably dialed the lb ft numbers back in order to save themselves some blown transmissions. It should be able to handle another 100, but like any auto tranny, you gotta be carefull w/ the 5th to 2nd downshifts, etc.

The stock wheels fit best, IMO.

The renntech spoiler looks real nice. Probably that, and the black wood, would be the only mods that I would be doing if that was my car.

All the AMG cars are traction limited my C55 had no traction whatsoever off the line. Sucks having that much power and no way to use it too 100% capacity!

Joe's New Ride

Britt;

I would have to agree with the majority on the wheels. Those wheels definitely rock!! It is not going to be easy finding after markets wheels that top those.

I would have to agree with Rob on the get together. Maybe next weekend since this weekend looks like a wash out!!

Congrats on the new ride Joe!!!

To be honest, I'd be even more concerned with those less than impressive track times. When is MB going to build a suitable chasis, suspension set-up, steering response to keep up with their superb engines. 4800lbs!! So stupid imo. That said, looks wise the car is stunning

Screw the stock wheels.

This sucker needs deep dish and must have 20s. Brutal power. Not exactly a canyon carving fun car.

I don't know why you're all excited about the stock wheels. No dish. And very common looking. Same style as those on other AMG cars.

BBSs are too racey for this car. This is where HRE really steps in and makes it the best that it can be.

Very nice SL - I'm a little biased, but I'm partial to the Kleemann wheels
