Entering the 996TT Market

Hello All,

Sorry to post this here, but I can't post in the Ads section b/c I just joined... Hopefully I'm not violating some rule here...

Anyways, if anyone has (or knows of) a 2002-2004 996 Turbo for sale that's in clean/good condition, relatively low miles (40k ish...?), preferably only 1 or 2 owners, I'd love to hear about it; am hoping to get one for under $45k (I just saw a 2004 grey/black on ebay for $42k, 27k miles (IIRC) and when I called this morning, they said that it sold yesterday - just so you know that I'm not trying to lowball anyone, just looking for a good (great?) deal like everyone else). Prefer grey exterior, but open to silver, black, and possibly white. Am currently transmission agnostic. I'm in the northern Los Angeles area; would prefer local but am open to shipping if it's the right car. Can pay cash so no financing issues, and am ready to move any day for the right car (subject to appropriate inspections by my mechanic).

Not looking for drama (either in the car nor in the transaction) and am not a drama buyer. I've bought 10+ cars (not all, tho most, for myself) in as many years so I won't waste your time or mine with nonsense.

You can PM me here (we have PM here, right?), or email me directly at genericxmail at gmail dot com.

Thanks.

Yeah, I was afraid of that :P I'm more of a lurker, especially on topics of which I know nothing, so it would probably take me a year to get 30 posts here (or whatever is the threshold)...

Or maybe I should turn this post into a question like: Where, besides ebay, autotrader, craigslist, and here would I go to find 996 TTs?

Heh, I'm up to 3 posts already.

Whats up, you will find one in that range and criteria, you should also check your local listings, assuming you are in Los Angeles...or is that Louisiana...or neither?

I found mine in the local Milwaukee paper classified. It was listed in one other obscure 'Porschefile' location. Asking was $109k. It languished for 8 months, then I snapped it up for an incredible deal... the fact that they were poorly placed made them desperate. Had the car had better visibility it would have been much more competitive.

So don't po-po any one path!

PS I think cars.com picks up newspaper classifieds. Don't slip ads without pics either!

22,000 miles that's crazy. I have put 4,000 miles on mine in the past 2 months alone.
