Hahahaha, I hope Porsche puts me in a focus group some day so I can give them a piece of my mind. I would love for the chance to rip on their brilliant ideas.

If they listened to me, every Porsche would have the GT3-RS suspension geometry and have at least 400hp. But I guess they would no longer be the most profitable car company in the world.

hey, i was at a focus group thing for the coupe back in 99 or 00 and the car looked great. I'm suprised that it actually took that long for the car to be in production? i didn't even think it was going to be produced because this was like 6 years ago... but again, that car looked awsome in person.. or maybe because i was 21 at the time...

LOLOLOLOLOL... that is funny poetic ****!

Glad to bring you some more humor!

I wouldnt mind the car at all if they would just call it what it is "the boxster coupe"

what's wrong with boxsterCS or something like that ?

But Cayman - geeeez I would love to see the person who actually signed off on that one

Boxster = Boxer engine + Roadster body

To come up with a fresh name for the coupe makes sence, though Cayman would not have been my first choice. I think this is going to be an awesome ride... especialy if they did an RS version with a GT3 drivetrain and suspension.

I think Boxster GT would have been a good choice

Max is that an official definition of Boxster? If that is then it makes sense I guess. I like my name best

I recall reading it, though for the life of me I can't remember where (Pano, Excellence, Christo, or online). I can't say whether or not that is the offical company line, but it makes a lot of sence to me. They probably wanted to differentiate it more since its positioned between the Boxster and the Carrera.

I don't understand how this could be perceived as a great move when it appears to be so similar in appearance to a 996.

At least the Boxster is a different bloody shape. WTF?

Either I'm clueless, or there's a lot of Porsche Kool-Aid going down around here.

Amen. Cars make names legendary, not the other way around.

I cannot believe people are passing judgment on this car before it is even introduced. It would appear that Porsche is launching a very serious new sports car into the marketplace, and I can't for the life of me understand why any enthusiast would think this is a bad thing. And I don't mind the name. (When I was a kid travelling through Florida with my family, there were tons of little roadside stands selling "baby alligators" to tourists. They were really caymans. I hear that has now been outlawed.)

what an assinine statement. no wonder porsche/911 owners have such a bad rep. and no wonder i get so much satisfaction passing so many of them on the track in my hairdresser boxster.

if anything, it is more pure sports car than the 2+2 911. so please keep your grocery-getter 911s out of my way.

lastly...look into most 911s on the road and you will see a woman driving. and if not, it is some greyhead old guy who thinks he is the **** for driving a Porsche.
