The aftermath of power shifting 3rd... (Warning LOTS of pictures)
Well I finally did hurt something... It was the transmission and it was kind of suprising that I did it on 13psi peak boost LOL! I was headed to my parents house and there is a little stretch of road and my buddy was waiting for me in a parking lot so I went by and slammed third and heard a thud and crack... Then of course instant rev limiter... As I slowed down I hear stuff rattling around in the trans. I know this isn't good from all the Mustang transmissions I've blown up over the years. Well we got the transmission out and here is what ended up being the problem..
G-Box worked it's magic on the transmission and it is now back to me. I made a few small changes, but nothing major. The car is still down, but there will be more to come at a later day on this. I'll tell you this much... My power level finally bored me enough...

Sorry to hear of the failure Chris!
Did it break because you powered up before it was completely engaged or because power was too great once it was engaged?

Mike... I won't lie like I did to Justin and Boost Logic my foot never left the floor. I came from the Mustang world to when I want to grab a gear I will do it as fast as possible LOL. My 4.89 60-130 3rd to 4th shift I thought I was going to do the samething. I am suprised I have not had problems under power, really goes to show these cars are built really tough.
Sean... The drag racing has not effected it at all. The problem was when I shifted I did not back out of the throttle and when the clutch was released the gear had not fully engaged due to the fact that these transmissions are cable driven compared to be directly above everything on a Mustang or Shaft Driven like a Corvette. I never take that into mind when I drive this car. I learned my lesson though.
Nick... I plead the fith on that one! I will have some suprises sooner or later...

mustang powershifts are awesome!! z06 powershifts are not bad either!!... i have not had the ***** or wallet to attempt powershifting the gt2.. but i guess its NOT a good idea to try.. is there a better cable or an adjustment procedure to make this a less likely result?..
