Why No One Picks Bridgestone Tires?

Why No One Picks Bridgestone Tires?
Over time I've read many threads on here about preferences for replacement tires for the TT. I think I've read advocates for many, many brands but don't think I've ever seen any one mention Bridgestone. I used them on my old Boxster S for years and still use the SO2A on my TT. I'm not concerned about switching to another maker, just like some insight from here why Bridgestone is conspicious by its absense.

Think everyone is just drinking the Michelin kool-aid. Don't get me wrong. I have PS2's on my car, so I'm as guilty as the next guy. But I've heard great things about the RE-11's, which are considerably less expensive.

Mine came with the SO2s and I thought there were awful...went to PS2s...better but still not Yoko 008s...then tried MPSCs which are great when they are hot, but not when they are cool. Noe I run the Yoko Advan Sports, best so far.

I am probably the oddest one here but since i just don't drive mine enough I went on the cheap side this time and put HanKook's on there this time. My last set of P's started cracking from sitting to long. I drove the car about 2K this year on the HK's and I really liked them. IMHO

One thing I also consider is tire weight. While the Hankooks and Sumitomos are great bang for the buck, they're also ~16 lbs heavier the Conti Sport 2s or PS2s (per set of 4). This is sprung weight way out on the radius (the worst kind) ...something for the weight junkies to consider. That's not to say I'd gladly sacrifice a few pounds for a better performing tire though.

Great... On top of the 15 pounds I have added to my waist and the tires I just put on I am screwed! Just razzing

I love the B. Potenza S-02A's
A really nice combo of a great street tire that does OK at the track. See the video of me chasing down a GT3 on Rdots in the track day thread above. I'm on the Potenzas.
I'm seriously looking at the RE 11s. I saw them at the track this week and they looked terrific! Owner said had no problem with them in the wet (here in SEA) and excellent track control.

in my days working for P i drove all approved tires obviously M PS2 were best bar none, B's a solid 2nd. Contis are simply crap. As driver of a P car since 1992 i found M's to be the best, i have also used toyo's with nice results, hankooks on Pcars are crap . In short, Michelins are best

ALOT of high horsepower American Muscle daily drivers are running the Bridgestone RE-11s now in 305+ trim. Lot's of Shelbys, CTS-Vs and Corvettes putting down 550whp plus are running them.
My buddy is running them after going stock on his 997 turbo pushing 600whp here locally and he loves them. The traction is significantly increased. I can feel the difference in his car.
