Tequipment rollbar / General rollbar questions - tall guys

I'm 6'4 and wondering if installing a tequipment rollbar would prohibit me from being comfortable in the car , my main concern is only being able to put the seat back just a little bit. I wanted to see if any of the taller guys have isses with rollbars in the 996tt.

anybody?

I believe that GMG and some others have a roll bar that allows the seat to go farther back than the tquip bar does...check it out...there are also lower seat brackets available that will give your pumpkin and helmet more clearance from brey-Krause

BBI makes a rollbar with the clearance you need, give them a ring.

I'm 5'9" and I have a Tequipment bar in my GT2... it is absolutely ON THE LIMIT of how big you can be with me in the drivers seat. Although the fit and finish is excellent, 'if I was 5'10" it would be a NO GO. Even on the passenger side where you have additional leg room, my passengers that are 6' are cramped. At 6'4" I would NEVER consider the Tequpiment bar, period.

I'm 6' 1" and concur with Bodybag's sentiments. I put a Tequipment bar in my '03 and was upset to find that I had to move the seat a couple of inches forward from my normal driving position. Also, when I DE the car and wear a helmet, I typically recline the seat a little more than my "daily" driving position so my helmet covered grape isn't hitting the roof. With the T-bar in the car, reclining the seat per my past practice during DE events was no longer an option. I took the T-bar out after a couple of weeks. That's about all the time it took for me to realize I wasn't willing to put up with an uncomfortable seating position due to the roll bar. If you're 6' 4", I see now way you'll be able to find a comfortable seating position with the Tequipment bar installed. However, if you'd like to try I have one I'll sell you!

I just installed that bar in a 2002 996TT the seat bottom won't slide back all the way so its pretty tight. I'm 6'5'' so I would have a hard time driving the car everyday. Trackdays won't be too bad.

rollbar

buy the one without the cross bar behind the seat and it does not effect the seat going all the way back.

The crossbar wasn't an issue, its the forward floor mount the stops the seat from sliding all the way back.
