996 Turbo LED Taillights- how can we get em made?

I've been trying to follow this on multiple threads but it kind of seems like there haven't been any updates in a WHILE. I am needing new taillights since the mounting tabs on mine are broken, would love to replace them with an upgrade SOON.

I spoke to Ray this week...the 996 lights are delayed because the factory is focused on the 997 DRL...i personally don't have hopes until maybe 1Q 2012

The factory 996TT tail lights cost like $500 each. I'm sure an aftermarket alternative could be very profitable

I'm in the middle of a major reconstruction of my 996TT. Engine/tiptronic out, new bumpers, skirts wing. K24/20's IC. exhaust, 100 cell cats, 60lb injectors, throttle body, Y-pipe, all new paint. So yea, I'd love to see new LED taillights on this new beauty.

thats the problem, there realy isnt any update, we havent been given any idea at all when they might be available, sounds to me like they went to a supplier and said hey, if you make this i bet we can sell a bunch and they said ok maybe, we'll think about it, and thats it

Guys what do you think of this? Obviously 996 narrow led lights are all over the place. What if I had a well reputable company build an enclosure that adapts the narrow body taillights and yet make them look like they belong. That way you can pay what the current 996 led tails cost and the adaptors to make it cost effective. not a bad idea.

i think it would be basically impossible to make it look like stock and that is one of the most important requirements
