my cold start is almost the same as it was stock, I never really worked on that part of the tune with tony cause I didn't feel it needed it, all in all its the best mod anyone can do....but if its hard to get it can be a pain.

chris , i dont mean on cold starts , i mean when it gets cold out the e85 drops a few points ,is this true ?

and would it effect the tune ? will the car pull timing ? it would suck to be running 1.5 bar or what not and have the car run lean and damage something

This is true about the variations of ethanol to gasoline percentage. The link below shows the US and what region has what concentration depending on time of year.

Correction, as the temperature decreases the ethanol content decreases to an minimum based on the link below.

Too bad you can't integrate the GM flex fuel sensor to factory ECU.

I went with Proto E85 Tune for my 997TT.
Best thing I ever did car runs great pulls like a freight train.
Went from 380whp stock to 560whp modded on the same dyno

Only had to swap out to 80lbs from stock 60lbs injectors to run E85.

I know this is a little off topic car wise, but my supra has been on e85 for a couple of years, and i just added the flex fuel sensor for use with the pro efi standalone which will display on the CAN gauge exactly how much ethanol% is running through the engine - it will also control boost/timing accordingly to the fuel being used, so if you want to run 93 it will turn boost and timing down, if you want to fill up with e85 or 98 it adjusts up on its own. i will let you guys know how it goes! BTW i heard their is a 996 or 997 running on a pro efi standalone now so this may be useful to you in the future(and me too when i get my turbo !!)

they have the cold start thing figured out pretty well now too.
and plugs i have seen on meth and eth have lasted quite a bit longer than 2500 miles
and at 2.05 a gallon for race fuel capabilities you cant go wrong!

flex fuel capabilities

Flex Fuel (ability to run any mixture of E85 with the ECU making on the fly adjustments to boost, spark, and fueling based on Ethanol content).

That's Jason Seibles and Saad Saad doing there gig on ProEfi; I'm thinking about switching my supra to proEfi and e85; believe it works exactly like they say it does.

I wonder how much you would have gained from a tune and the larger injectors in your car? I think a tune with larger injectors would easily get you to 500whp.

still 60 whp is better than not getting it

Get the conversion ASAP, its a no brainer. Only downside is if you have to travel to get the E85...Ive had no problems since conversion, just more performance.

I'm planing to just waiting to hear on tk .

I want to see if I have to swap the whole fuel system or what.

Also on the tune , how much different will it be them now, will it be pretty close with just minor tinkering or will it require to completely start from the beginning .

No real downside unless you don't have an e85 station near you. Put it this way, if we could pump ethanol out of the ground like petroleum, then we would all be on ethanol. As for fuel system upgrade, it depends on your power goals. If you want big power you will need something like 160 lb injectors and two fuel pumps.
