Nothing against your IS-F, it seems to be quite quick and looks like a very nice car. But a properly setup (and properly driven) K24/18G car will indeed pull you hard.

At only 1.3 BAR I ran 10.65 @ 136 in my car with those same tiny turbos, and we even have a K24/18G car that has gone 10.3 @ 146 on this forum with more boost.

Anyway, no hate here. Just stating facts.

A good way to see how your car runs from a roll is to get some Performance Box 60-130 runs and compare to the cars on the list that's stickied at the top of this section of the forum. You can order the box here: http://www.vboxusa.com/performancedr...ormancebox.php

Ha ha...not at all, bro!

I think you definitely need to get a boost-leak check done, also swap plugs and coil-packs if you haven't done so recently...and then pour some race gas in and turn up the wick to at least 1.3 BAR, preferably 1.4 or 1.5.

He's running nitrous and maxing his setup out. You should defintely be running race fuel and taking full advantage of that phenomenal setup that you have.

Also, try not to hit the rev-limiter next time.

Yeah, I have a list of to-do's now. Thanks to Jason for motivating me to get my car in shape! I am sure my wife will thank him at my funeral once she kills me. lol

I know I stink, I am learning - gotta start somewhere. Def sucked when I hit the limiter, was like putting on the brakes! Maybe I can get him to run from 40mph one time! Otherwise at 60, I would be shifting pretty much immediately if I don't start in 3rd.

Thanks for the information. No hate taken here. I know I shouldn't be beating some of the cars I race, but a victory is a victory...lol I might pick up one of those vboxes. They are a very cool piece of hardware. You compiled quite a list man, nice job.

No problem, from what a few people are saying your car should be blowing past me. Get your stuff sorted out and we can run again in the future. My car runs consistant everytime, so it should be a good base point for you to work from. You might need to start paying to refill my bottle if this gets out of hand.

PS: Sounds like your wife would push me in your grave!

Hey, definitely no hate for you or your car here. Just stating what should have happened. I have an M5 and if I had beat a guy with a turbo with the same mods, I would expect something to be wrong.

My thoughts exactly. Check for boost leaks, check plugs and coils, your're definitely missing power somewhere. I would also ask how are you launching, where are you shifting? If you're car has the power, then something else is going on.

Horsepower, schmorespower, what we really should be comparing are torque curves. :-) NOS is instant torque, if its not programmed and all in at WOT, it will be an instant 125/225/whatever addition of torque, this makes a huge difference. If you want to beat him, race him over 5 minutes...he will eventually run out of juice LOL.

Chad -

You should hook up a Durametric and get some load-rpm data to see what your torque curve looks like.

See you at Putnam in a couple of weeks?

I am not sure where I shifted, not practised enough to pay attention yet...

That's funny, 5 minute race!

Hey Jon! Is that an option to log? load-rpm?

I won't be at Putnam, they switched our region's event to September. I think the Pumpkin Run is CIR's event now. Have fun!!! Maybe it will stay warm until then!

Engine load, rpm, ignition angle, O2 lambdas, boost, knock sensors, injector time,... You gotta log data. Plotting engine load vs rpm is pretty close to a dyno - just not calibrated. It might be interesting to compare logs on your car and mine. See this thread, post #57:

Too bad, would've been nice to see you and the lovely ladies. I've been overseas since the beginning of September. From what I hear, I'll return to a barren wasteland...

I did some data logging a few weeks back, but need to do some more since I added the boost controller. It is set pretty conservative right now since I haven't verified everything.

Yeah, the girls have fun at the track. Well, at the hotel at least. They go swimming! It has been very dry here, so expect dead grass and a dusty car!

Kevin has convinced me that it is really crucial to log data when you are modding the car. You want to make sure that you're not fuel-starved once you start pushing the boost up.

Definitely! Marksi has been on me to get it done, I have just been lazy and enjoying the car... Time to get everything up to speed and max this baby out!
