CLk430 has a spectacular aura aboutCLk430 has a spectacular aura about
K40 rl360

I just got one of these systems in and it looks like a pretty good unit they def upgraded their packaging to display the product. Will be putting one of the systems in within the next week. The Radar receivers have been upgraded so they have better range for x,k, and Ka. It now has the gps feature so you can lock locations. Will give some more feedback once i put in a vehicle.

I think I'm leaning in this direction as well. Any suggestions for a concealed faceplate Valentine 1 install? Is suction cup at top if windshield the only real option? I have a 2005 TTS cab.

I would likely want a audio/service shop to install the hidden faceplate. Any suggestions in SF bay area?

Really? K40 has ALWAYS finished at the bottom of the pack in all independent evaluations.... do you have new data on the new units, or just sales talk?

I use the suction cups at the top of the window on all my cars.

In the Guys of Lidar tests, Laser Interceptor was the hands down winner. I tested mine with a friends Laser gun and it JTG 11 out of 12 times.

The only problem is I have yet to be hit w/ Laser by an LEO.

I'm getting quoted $2500 for the Passport 9500ci installed. Is that reasonable? Escort is selling it for $1599 so $900 labor seems pricey. Thoughts?

An hour or two is REALLY optimistic for a good install. We've installed a few dozen of the 9500ci's into various cars and we typically charge around 5 hours for the install. The wiring is fairly complicated and to do it right you need at least a few hours. $900 is steep....our instally is usually around $450 or so.

Thanks for the info. I get hit with laser about once ever two weeks, if not more often. Thankfully, the cops in OH all have clearly marked cruisers with the big lights, and very rarely do a good job of hiding, so just being on your guard is enough to aviod a ticket. Still, you can't be 11/12 success rate with jamming.

What version of the jammer do you have?

agreed... A 2 hour install of this system would be quite impressive!... 5 is more realistic, there's a lot more to it than it would seem. Shop around and $500 for the install is about par.

I installed my Laser Star laser jammer in about two hours myself. No visible wires - just the two sensors in the front grills and I put the activation LED in one of the switch blanks behind the ashtray. I suppose, you could add a little time for someone who is not familiar with removing the front bumper cover and inside trim, but really you would have to be doing a lot of snoozing to take much longer. Probably best to use an installer that is already familiar with 911s.

Take a look at how much "stuff" comes with the 9500ci...lol. It's not a quick install by any means..

the LI...mind you, the only time it failed was because he was shooting me in close.....from the range that most cops will shoot it jammed every time.

It really is the best jammer.

[OH MY GOD......... That is a ton of components, that is exactly why I didnt buy that system to compromising to my car. I just got the new K40 RL 360 and it is as advertised. Best system I have had yet, Finally K40 answered all our demands and came out with something GREAT. Saved my butt several times already worth every penny. ]

It's definitely a lot of parts, but I can honestly say it's one of the best fully integrated systems available today. There are so many awesome features to it!

All I see in my car a lot more stealth then the 9500ci......... The K40 RL360 radar detector also comes with a rear radar reciever unlike the Escort

How do you have a clue as to the K40s operation compared to the competition?!?!

(Like a virgin marrying their first girlfriend.)

I'm sure you're happy with your system, but without head to head testing in a controlled environment, there is no way to make a value judgment on PERFORMANCE. (Yes, you can discuss features, price, etc, but not performance)
