Be carefull reading comparisons of radar detectors on the website a lot of those are simply ways to sell radars, basically any radar review websites that sell radar are bias websites and have one agenda. If your looking for an installed radar, I would go with the K40, I have there new RL 360 and I am very happy with it, there system comes with a rear radar reciever so it tells you if the cop is behind you or in front of you in my research they are the only ones that have that. Also I was very happy with there install all you see is two small leds and it is VERY clean. I swapped out my 9500ci for this new K40 and hands down it is the way to go.

 

I have several friends who install radars for a living, who have installed, tested and sold both K40 and Escort. I have owned both and I have driven with both, They are very close in performance as far as detection range however K40 has the leg up with there new RL 360 and some of it's GPS features. I am no professional however I have experienced both and I can honestly say I prefer the K40, before there new system I couldnt say that. It is simply my opinion.

I agree but who? I dont trust any of those reviews sites that sell product. It to me is opinionand those are like A&*Holes everyones got one. This is my opinion, all radars will give you a warning in enough time to slow down so that means the difference is bells/whistles and how sensitive the radar is. I dont want it going off all the time and I have noticed the ones that claim to get great distance also go off all the time.

Absolutely, basically any website that sells radar. I mean come on we are not uncovering anything new here. We all know the wonderful world of the internet is a place to sell product. What some websites have claimed I and many others who are professionals have seen different and again it is simply to sell that product. What are they going to do sell product they dont test to be the best. For Example; Anyone who has been in the radar industry knows K40 had the first installed radar and they have been in business for a long time, but then there are some websites that state there product is garbage but then rank Whistler a better product oh and by the way ( Click Here ) to buy one?????? Thats funny

 

I personally have the K40 RL360 and I am confidant it is an over all better system then the 9500ci, I actually prefer over the the Escort because it is ciomplete hidden inside the car I do not want a control head or display sticking out inside my car which you will get with the escort.

I got a qoute for installing a 9500ci maybe a year ago. The shop wanted $1300 just for the labor. I didn't do it since I couldn't justify that much money for the install. So, your quote is cheap.

 

Go to radardetector.net. That is the only reliable source for radar/laser protection information. The people on that site are analogous to people on this site. There are some biased people but there are way more who know their sh*t. They also have a link to the GOL tests which absolutely are unbiased.

They have a real hard on against K40 there. The mere mention of it will get you banned.

 

radardetector.net is nothing but but a group of guys who are extreme bias and obviously prefer a certain brand. The bottom line is that the internet is an extremely hard place to find none bias information or websites that do not promote products to be the best to simply sell it. The fact is this ANY radar will give you enough time to slow down, so it just comes down to features and how sensitive there units are. Thats why I prefer the K40 I thiink they have a good mixture of sensitivity or selectivityThere new RL360 does have show pretty dame good range but so did the Escort. There are things I just like better about the K40.
