I dont think any stage 4 does more then 125. i average 123 to 125mph on 93 pump gas with my metal bumper bars on, and rear seats intact- unlike the original post. he took off some weight and used high octane race gas. that might have something to do with it.
ps. and he has a TIP - I do not.

This is quite probably one of the world's quickest street registered rotary cars. Given that the car does 8.8 @ 160mph and is the original steel bodywork.....

Watch out boys, if you see this guy in his street driven ride.... He's a local in Los Angeles....

I know that at the veags shoot out, the fvd had the same set up except they had the stage 4 turbos and the BLUE intake piping. they ran 11.5 @ 130 mph.
Ahh, wasn't sure Yes our true stage 4 kit trapped at 130MPH, not bad eh?? The addition of the blue intake might have added .5-1MPH so maybe 129...

You mean me?? Thats how we sell all of our Stage 4's (without cats..). That is unless the customer lives in CA and requests cats...
Evan

Gotchya man, yea thats how we do all the level 3-4 kits with no cats... You should give no cats a try on your car, WHAT A DIFFERENCE in lag!! Plus hearing the turbos spooling is much louder

I am getting old, not sure I need anything that much louder. I have to crank the tv up in bed as it is. It is like the "odd couple" with Roxanne yelling at me to turn it down. LOL

Its no louder!!! If you can believe that (at least with our exhaust) the cat bypass are not much (if at all) louder than with 100cell cats!! I could barely tell the difference between the cab and coupe (cab had 100cell), you just hear more turbo noise (what I ment by my post above)!! I have bad hearing as well man, my hearing test came back that I have the hearing loss of a 40-45yr old!! No more straight pipes for me

An x50 traps 119 right? So stage IV (chip, exhaust, and headers) for x50 and the k24 turbos only increases the trap about 5 mph?

5MPH is a lot when it comes to 1/4 miles, it could mean a good 1/2 second to full second off the 1/4 mile time!!
Evan
PS-Alex, my doc asked if I have a loud car or am around them when he saw my hearing test results... All I could do was laugh Sux though I can't run them anymore as he said it will only get worse if I do!!

I had a similar experience. I thought removing the cats would make the volume intolerable but, in reality, the difference is trivial.

I thought I would chime in here as well...

I hate to admit it, but I have to agree that picking up about 5mph in the quarter seems a lot less than most would expect.

Most stock X-50s have been tested numerous times in the very low 12s to high 11s at around 119-121mph. These cars are often times running 91 Octane. To compare these to Stage IV cars which are supposed to make approximately 600+hp on pump gas and presumably more on race gas (which is what many run in these cars), to a 450hp stock car you think you would see much more than 4-5mph with 150+ hp increase.

In comparison, I saw 2-3mph with an exhaust change on a Viper which only added about 35hp to the wheels. I saw a 13mph+ increase after adding about 200hp to the wheels. It looks like most dyno graphs of the stage IV kit yield about 155hp to the wheels so you would think you should see close to 130mph in the Porsche.

I know it is difficult if not impossible to compare improvements on 2 totally different cars, but the point I was trying to make was that for 155+hp at the wheels, it would be reasonable to assume that any car should pick up at least several mph in the 1/4 mile.

Just my $.02

Like you said they are totally different cars... The viper is a high HP machine already and is built to run 1/4 mile while the turbo is not. Turbo charged HP and N/A power is very different. I don't want to go any more into it than this as I am not a tech and would be going beyond my knowladge... I will let Stephen finish that part up as he knows much more than I do in this department
Evan
PS-Our car in the shootout was a regular Level 4 which made around 600BHP and ran 130MPH in the 1/4, so it can be done...
