drhenrock,
I read your post and I don't think you will find a 3" exhaust with absolutely no drone in the 2,600-3,000 RPM range. Even the highly regarded 70mm EP 2 quiet is reported to have slight drone in this range and has been compared directly to our 2.5 system, as being very similar in terms of sound. A 3" hi-flow cross-flow system with no baffles/restrictions is louder than both these options and has more drone. If you do not want drone, you should consider our 2.5 quiet cross-flow. The drone is very minimal and the system is extremely comfortable to live with. Our 2.5 dual tips are quieter than the 2.5 single large tip and I would recommend the dual tips given your goal. We could also provide optional 200 cell or 300 cell cats, which will further reduce the volume and almost eliminate the drone, but at the expense of some flow. If you would like to give me a call tomorrow or a PM and I can fully explain our options.
X-cellerator cross-flow 2.5 w/ dual 2.5 tips
As for weight, our non-cat version weights 27lbs. with all clamps, hardware, bolts, etc and the 100 cell catted version weighs in at 29 lbs. - considerably lighter than the OEM system.
With cat bypass pipes 27 lbs.
With 100 cell cats 29 lbs.
