Those pics are unf*cking believeable.Underground racing built one hell of a cage for that car, although i wouldn't expact anything else from them.

Is the guy a 6speeder ?
Stock internals, Alpha 3076's, Proto i/c, y-pipe and tuning, Evoms air intake ducting (breathing thru stock air box), stock exhaust manifold and muffler, 997tt intake manifold. 203.6 mph best. Only made 3 runs (all above 200) as clutch was failing.

As far as stable, not as stable as my C6 Z06 TT (208mph best) in the windy conditions, but not scary.

Only made one low boost pass @193.5 in silver GT2 and didn't get to run it again Sunday due to tow vehicle troubles.

Thank you for posting the pictures. I was there in person and the crash was crazy. I was talking to the driver the night before we were at the same hotel. He said they blew 2nd gear on the last run on Friday, so underground had a busy night swapping the trans that night so he could run on Saturday.

From another web On Sunday, October 24, 2010, at the Texas Mile, in Goliad Texas, Wild Bill Warner set a new world record of 278.6 mph!!!! Bill went 255.1 mph on Friday, October 22nd, then 270.7 mph on Saturday, October 23rd, then finally 278.6 mph on Sunday, October 24. Bill was only able to run once or twice a day, in the very early morning, due to the fierce crosswinds that raged from 10-25 mph as the days wore on.

Respect!

Looks like Gary Javo has just released the FIRST FULL LENGTH VIDEO of the crash!

As many have said, it's terrible that this happened, but I'm very glad to hear that Richard walked away!

Props to UGR for building that awesome car, and even more props for not skimping on the safety equipment, which no doubt saved Richard's life!

It's something noone seems to have commented on. My initial thought had been that it was a tire unraveling but that doesn't seem to be the case. It could have been the Chute tether in the wind though who knows.
