Wow that's not good news if that's a fact.

WOW thats awesome that the driver is ok.. I feared the worst knowing that 99% chance there is no cage in the car.. will be interesting to see if they run anything else today and tomorrow.. At maxton something like this happens and its a major investigation and track closed..

Do you know if the chute is what lifted the car up from the rear or did it actually get air under the car and lift off like a plane.. I said a few weeks back that this amateur style LSR can be very dangerous.. people talking 300mph and now a car possibly lifting off well before that.. I hope everyone is taking note and has their safety gear in check.. I feared the worst when i heard this.. Thank god the guy is ok..

Mile racing may be done at this location regardless of the incidents that occur this weekend.

Hopefully they check everything out on the track as well, I'm curious if the cars are using off the shelf drag chutes, or the Bonnevile/landspeed style longer release style chutes?

Hmmm.....maybe it's better to lift first which slows the car quite a bit and lightly brake before deploying the chute.
Glad he's walking around and I hope the driver is now aware that any good video of that crash will bring him fame that lasts much longer than if he had gone 260.
