02 996 TT Wing Hyd. Rams
I'm in Phoenix and I'm looking for junk 02 996 TT Wing Hyd. Ram. I want to disassemble it. Does anyone have one to get rid of?

Tim, I think I may still have my old leaking rams, but honestly, I'd have to check the garage cabinets since I haven't spied them for a while, and thus don't know if I ended up just chucking them. I'll let you know tomorrow. I'm in Gilbert.

My passenger one has a slight leak and I may have access to a whole decklid with non-leaking units. If the other party lets me get my hands on his decklid I'll replace mine and have one for you.

Wow! I thought with as many of these things that fail I would have gotten a few more replies. I just need one. I want to see if there is a way I can mechanically lock it in the up position. Has anyone tried this? Once I have done this I will share here. I'm tired of replacing them. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Tim, you're in luck. But I'm going to have to insist on riding shotgun during a DE event as payment! I've yet to do a DE event, but I plan to do so soon (even bought a helmet from a fellow pca member!) I will shoot you an email. Scott.

That sounds great Scott! No problem. The next NASA DE is at PIR Thanksgiving Weekend. This event is a blast.

The next PCA-AZ DE won't be until December 4th at Firebird East.

OK...As promised, here is the update on the rear wing hyd. rams.
Thanks to Scott I was able to take the ram apart. They are very simple with one 2mm rod as the ram inside. All I did was make a spacer out of some round stock from Ace. (2mm) A little trial and error and I have the right height. It ends up being 1 1/2" shorter then the rod inside. Stack the original rod on top of the spacer. There is a rather long spring inside. When you release the c-clip hold a lot of pressure down so it all doesn't go flying. (Thanks for the warning Scott)
My wing is now solid in one place. No up and down and now leaks with warning lights.
