i dont know what it is about these cars and their paracidic charge that just kills batteries but damn... lol i replace my battery every 9 months,

so i decided to invest in a battery charger/trickle charger for when the car is not beeing driven, what do you guys recommend ?'

and also do they hook up straight to the battery it self ? or plug into the cig. lighter ?

 

I have been using the Battery Tender Plus (12V) for a long time with no issues. Connects right to the battery with a custom connector provided by the manufacturer.

 

The factory Porsche one works well. If you need something more versitile check out CTEK. They make some really nice units.

 

I really like my ctek charger with lighter adapter.

 

Porsche labeled unit does the job, and comes with lighter adapter.

Its apparently made by CTEK, so you could probably get the same unit w/o the Porsche Tax. . . .

Looks like a tax to me. Again, I paid it, and am very happy with the Porsche battery maintainer.

How long can the car go w/o being driven to where this is necessary? I just got my 996TT and its going to be idle for a month and I do not have a charger

 

i would get a charger .. they drain batteries like crazy.

 

I use the Porsche cig lighter charger...works mint...and I have a tiny little battery...
