Don't have a way to post the article, but there is a writeup of the event that claimed the life of VR Alexander, and it does not paint a very flattering picture of Alex. I didn't know him personally, but the article is not kind at all. Just a heads up for those interested in this story - I apologize if this is a repost.

 

I saw that somewhere. I wonder this- Why the hell would Car and Driver write anything at all about his personal life?? They are a car magazine and should have left it a story about the tragedy that occurred at the race. The story didn't even need to mention a name to get the point across.

I guess sometimes people walk a moral and ethcial tightrope in trying to respect the dead when at the same time the deceased was a grifter of the highest order.

Just read it. It wasn't as bad as I would have thought based off the comments I heard about it. And it was kind of interesting.

 

Wow that article really went above and beyond to make him look bad and with no facts to base their claims. Bad form IMHO.... Can't believe a editor would allow a article like that to be published in C&D....

 

I agree the article is mostly unflattering. But it is slightly flattering that C&D felt he was newsworthy.

Doesn't sound like he was taking others people's cars for joyrides. Sounds more like he has a silent partner approach to business. Either way that was his business.
