Pic of my burned clutch + GT2 Conv impressions

Just completed my CM Stg2 + GT2 conversion by the fine folks at Boost Logic. They also found a 2 inch gash in my intake tube. Can't wait till my break in period is over so I can take the car to the track again. Ran a 13.1 @110 MPH with a slipping clutch and a boost leak.

Initial impression of the new clutch setup is the low engagement point. Stalled a couple of times and couldn't shift into gear (I wasn't pressing the clutch all the way down to the floor) . Should get better over time with practice and as the clutch breaks in. Clutch feel is much better now and the extra pedal effort is minimal.

For those with GT2 conversions + new clutch about how long does it take for the engagement point to return to "normal" ?

griggsat is infamous around these parts
My engagement point is also at the end of the travel of the pedal. But for me that is ok, at least it is consistent! With the stock setup it was all over the place. I think it is mainly a matter of getting used to it.

Yep, the last inch is where they kick in. It makes it difficult to launch from a dig.

Yea, I guess I'll give it sometime. When speed shifting my timing will be off since the engagment is so quick...I worry about breaking my transmission from shifting without the clutch all the way down.

Anyone have ideas on the costs of having it adjusted...in the future?

Does anyone know if stock 996 GT2s have the same engagement point as the Turbos converted to the GT2 setup?

I did some searching in this forum and it seems the engagement point of the clutch is more dependant on the aftermarket clutch you install. The GT2 conversion only alters the "feel"

my engagement point is high enough that I installed the RSS tuning clutch stop with the bolt screwed in all the way and I have less than an inch travel to engage now, which is what it was before. Feels much better and I don't stall it as often. Of course the lwfw makes the engine zing so it is hard to engage at low rpms.

I had Motorwerks create a custom set up on my clutch so it would have the original engangement point. It feels very good and if you ever are in H town you can give it a test drive.
Cheers

Great, thanks for the offer! Can you give me an idea of how much it would cost for the adjustment? labor hours etc..
