What are your thoughts on nitrous?

Gotta love the ole Pete Jackson gear drive trick!

how about this one..."is that a supercharger I hear under the hood?"
"No, that is my gear drive, makes the same sound"
it's only cheating when you lie about what you got.....and you can lie about FI as easily as you can about NOS. If NOS by itself is cheating, then so is having a race file and running race fuel or running meth/water injection, or even E85.
While your at it naming what is cheating, i think we can include having an engine is cheating ! We should all just use our feet/legs to race !
... IMO anyone who think NOS is cheating and think Turbos/Superchargers are okay, need to check themselves. And no, I'm not like most 6speeders who are power hungry, I'm happy with my 480bhp.

I have the fastest 944 with a Porsche motor I4 and without Forced induction Record from what I can find at 12.0@120.9 MPH
Stock 944S2 pass (Right)
Sprayed 944S2 Pass (Both Left and pic was for Special Tool on Rennlist)

I ran it in a Ford Mustang back in the late 70's and early 80's. I remember we had to build the engine for No2. The car was a 1969 Mach 1 with a 351 C and a C6 tranny. I think we ran low 11's at OCIR in Orange County. I also remember my dad using it on his 57 Chevy Belair that had a 327 Vet motor in it. That car ran high 10's at Lyons Drag Strip in the late 1960's.

so far no one else does. CJV asked about PORSCHE TT. Not 944 non turbo or muscle cars.

Actually anyone with nitrous experience is great as long as they tell us what they were using it with.

Its about making sure things are built right and tuning the car correctly. I'm going to use it on my Avant build. I can't afford waiting years for the turbos to spool, and I will only use it on race gas but who cares, pursuing a record is taking a chance either way IMO. If people are scared that's fine, but to discount someones achievement because they maximized their engine's capabilities is not fair. I too think if that's cheating then turbos/superchargers are too. same thing with meth injection and so on.

The funny thing is, many of the owners who do this are simply not financially able to suffer the loss of their motor. Probably not unlike being an addict.

Your first sentence says it all. I have a good relationship with many top tuners. It is amazing after some of them safely setup some of these turbo cars the owner than takes it to someone else who takes the tune to unsafe levels for the sake of additional performance.
