You didn't say if you have Nav or not... If you have Nav and replace the head unit, you will not be able to keep using the stock amp because you will have no way to transmit the unlock code from the head unit to the amplifier.

It is not plug and play. You will have to wire some of the connectors you get from Loi; but not to worry. He is very helpful and will make sure you get everything working in the end. I have submitted a few posts here that include the wiring diagrams for the 01 PCM - let me know if you need it and can't find it.

Got this back from Loi

Hi John,

If you have an 02 model w/ PCM and BOSE...you CAN use the stock amplifier. If you have an 03 or newer 996, w/ PCM or CDR 23 and BOSE...you CANNOT use the stock amplifier due to the MOST fiber optic connection between radio and amplifier.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Cheers,

Loi T.

I get the fabric from Compositeenvisions.com. I have done all the carbon fibre work on the car myself.

I removed the paper-thin leather that comes OEM and applied the CF onto the underlying plastic trim. That's what you get when you order the CF option from Porsche. The cool thing is that CF is amazingly cheap - it's the labour you are paying for. I did all the trim on the interior for about $50 worth of CF and $100 in resin. It's a fun hobby too!

What sort of cost to do all my interior stuff, at the moment its the alloy pack so no leather to remove, so horseshoe around stereo, cubby surround, nav surround, centre console and both arm rests and grab handles on the door and speedo surround. PM me if you like.
